Isra' Mi'raj, A Significance Journey.

Salaam to all. Today is one of the greatest day in history. If I were to ask you what is Isra' and Mi'raj, will you be able to answer it correctly? Unlike Ramadan and maybe Eidulfitri, most muslims will usually know the answer. But how about Isra' and Mi'raj? Why do some Muslims ignore this special event? Don't you think it's just sad to not know a piece of the Islamic history?

17:1
Sahih International
Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing. [17:1]

Here is the brief explanation about Isra' and Mi'raj. Isra' is the event when Prophet Muhammad [pbuh] was taken from masjidil Haram to masjidil Aqsa. While Mi'raj is the event when He was brought to meet the almighty, Allah [swt]. Prophet Muhammad [pbuh] was revealed with the future and was shown the conditions of the hell. He also met a few other prophets and finally he returned back to Makkah. The special thing was that the whole event happened in a night

What was the significance for this event?

1.  Muslims are instructed to perform the 5 daily prayers.
2. To have faith toward Prophet Muhammad [pbuh] and in becoming a better Muslim.

Indeed there are more significance.  Instead of ignoring this great day, we should strengthen our ukhuwwah with others. Start your da'wah today to our Muslims brothers and sisters as well as to provide correct information about Isra' and Mi'raj.
