Put into practice, what you preach.

Assalamualaikum to all.

2:44

Do you order righteousness of the people and forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Then will you not reason? [Al-Baqarah verse 44]

I am sure we preach goodness to everyone day by day. It is a good thing, yet, it is reccomended to all. And imagine, if others practice with what we preach, Allah will take that to account. However, sometimes we might just get too attached to the world when we tend to leave what we preach. As stated in the following hadith :

Usamah (RA) heard Allah's Messenger (S.A.W) saying:

'A man will be brought and put in the hell fire and he will circumambulate (go round and round) in the hell fire like a donkey of a (flour grinding mill), and all the people of the hell fire will gather around him and will say to him, 'O so-and-so! Didn't you use to order others for Al-Ma'roof (Islamic monotheism and all that is good) and forbid them from Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief, and all that is evil)?'

That man will say, 'I used to order others to do Al-Ma'roof (Islamic monotheism and all that is good) but myself never used to do it, and I used to forbid others from Al-Munkar (polyhtheism, disbelief, and all that is evil) while I myself used to do Al-Munkar'"
[Sahih Al-Bukhari]

O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do. [As-Saff verse 2-3]

It is a scary thing indeed. Great hatred in the sight of Allah. That is, IF we do not practice what we preach. This is a reminder to me also. I hope that we reflect deep, deep inside ourself. Ensure that we, are a better person each day. May Allah guide all of us in a straight path and keep us firm in our Deen. Wassalamualaikum.
